This policy explains how we respond to personal-data breaches and when we notify affected people and authorities as required by law.

Becoming Alpha, Inc., a Delaware Public Benefit Corporation (the "Company," "we," "us," or "our") takes data security seriously and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Data Breach Notification Policy explains how we will notify you in the event of a data breach that may affect your personal information. This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which provides comprehensive information about how we protect and handle your data.

1. What is a Data Breach?

A data breach is a security incident in which unauthorized individuals gain access to personal information, personal information is disclosed to unauthorized parties, personal information is lost or stolen, or personal information is altered or corrupted in an unauthorized manner.

2. Our Commitment

We are committed to preventing data breaches through robust security measures, detecting breaches quickly if they occur, responding promptly and effectively, notifying affected individuals and authorities as required by law, and taking steps to prevent future breaches.

3. Notification Requirements

In the European Union and United Kingdom, we will notify the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of a notifiable breach, and will notify affected individuals without undue delay where the breach is likely to result in a high risk to their rights and freedoms.

Our governed breach-response sequence is: detection → assessment → materiality determination → notification (to authorities and affected individuals as required) → evidence preservation → closure → post-incident review. Notification timing follows applicable law (for example, GDPR 72-hour supervisory authority notification where required, and applicable U.S. state breach-notification timelines). Report suspected incidents to security@becomingalpha.world; data-subject queries to privacy@becomingalpha.world.

4. How You Will Be Notified

We will notify you using one or more of the following methods: email to the address associated with your account, mail to the mailing address we have on file (for serious breaches), a prominent notice on our website, or an in-app notification. We will use the most appropriate method(s) based on the severity of the breach and the information affected.
